Gingerbread House Party

mom and Landon 009Last day of school prior to winter break, I joined Landon and his class in the annual Gingerbread house making party.  The abundance of decorative treats were being popped faster into their mouths than onto the houses…gotta love this time of year!  Landon’s edible masterpiece may not last too long in our house, he’s way to excited to eat it!!

Day of the Arts

Landon’s preschool prepared, practiced, and rehearsed for the holiday program that was presented to the school and families.  He got a little nervous the morning of, not certain if he wanted to go to on stage.  Arriving to his classroom with his buddies and feeling the day’s excitement, he was ready to perform.

Olympic Games

Landon’s preschool held their annual Olympic games, emphasizing athletics, health, fitness, teamwork, and good sportsmanship.  The kids were taken through a 6 game practiced series, a group exercise song, and awarded gold medals for their enthusiastic participation!  Landon was so excited to receive his gold medal.  He proudly wore his award throughout the day and it is now on display in our home.  The afternoon was wonderfully organized and orchestrated by the teachers and parents.  We are just loving all these fun activities the school plans outside of the classroom, keeping the children excited, motivated, and socializing!

School Thanksgiving

4th annual Thanksgiving dinner hosted by Landon’s school was last night.  The 7th and 8th graders had prepared the quad area with tables and chairs under the white twinkling lights.  All the families in the tight school community brought foods to share with one another.  The administrators gave a wonderful speech on families and joining together; the cheerleaders performed and the 4th graders sang a turkey song that gave Landon rolls of laughter and a huge applause.  The evening was wonderful, as we met other students, chatted with the parents and teachers, and discovered that Landon is known and knows quite a few of the “upper class” girls (6th,7th, 8th graders) and cheerleaders.  Following the dinner everyone took a walk around the school, they are huge promoters of healthy living (love that), prior to everyone lending a hand to cleaning up.  A great start to the Thanksgiving season!!
